Gallienus Centaur Antoninianus – Nice Green and Brown Patina

This auction is for an attractive example of Gallienus’ (253-268 AD) mythological series of antoniniani.  This one features a centaur walking left holding a globe and rudder.  I grade it as Very Fine and it has a lovely green and brown patina.  It is quite attractive.

Here’s a three coin lot that includes a GENIO IMPERATORIS follis of Maximianus (286-305 AD), a Maximianus CONCORDIA MILITVM antoninianus with some original silvering remaining and a Claudius II Gothicus (268-270 AD) ANNONA AVG antoninianus that is also partially silvered.

Very Detailed Bust on This Trajan Dupondius

Up for auction here is a dupondius of Trajan (98-117 AD).  It is 25 mm. in diameter and has a very detailed bust of the emperor with a clear radiate crown and hair details.  The reverse, however, is on the rough side, but the central details of Abundantia seated left are clear.  I am not sure if the reverse could be further improved with careful cleaning or not.

REV: Abundantia seated left in curule chair – TR POT COS II P P.  I think this coin should be attributed as RIC, Vol. II, #382.
